Basic vinegarette

1 tsp salt
2 tsp white sugar
2 tsp garlic minced
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tbs onion, chopped
2 level tsp mustard (I like old-style french mustard)
1/4 c. water
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/4 cup olive oil.

Mix, let sit 1/2 hr. Refrigerate any unused portions.

  1. Can you swap out the balsamic with lemon juice? I have lemons remember...

  2. No. Need a vinegar. It tastes weird with lemon juice. Lemme see if I can find a dressing using lemon juice.
